My Background and Vision

As a child, I was always drawn to understanding people’s unique stories and helping people navigate the ups and downs in life. By nature, I am thoughtful, engaging and accepting. I believe these characteristics have become the foundation for my work as a psychologist

One underlying lesson I have found throughout my training and my own life is that we are deeply social creatures. We are better at finding our way through difficult situations with others by our side than on our own. We are more enabled when we are heard, truly listened to, and feel connected.

Running my own boutique practice allows me the flexibility and time for each and every one of my clients with care that is truly focused and individualized. I established my own practice to fulfill my dream of helping others and guiding them to fulfil their own dreams and goals.

I work hard for my clients, respect their time, and feel honored to have people share their life stories and struggles with me.

  • Bachelor of Arts Degree with a Major in Psychology  (University of Colorado, Boulder)
  • Masters Degree is Clinical Psychology
  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology

I received both Masters and Doctoral degrees from California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University in their American Psychological Association (APA) Accredited Program.

Being in such vibrant and diverse cities afforded me many dynamic training opportunities. My experience includes working in a community clinic, a residential children’s facility, drug and alcohol rehabilitation center, a college counseling center, and several private practice settings. I completed my postdoctoral training in a fast paced private practice with multiple providers under the supervision of a board certified neuropsychologist conducting psychological and neuropsychological assessments and therapy with individuals and families with an array of concerns.  This experience provided me invaluable knowledge, especially in my work with trauma, medical, developmental and injury concerns. During my post-doctoral training years, I spent significant time treating clients with chronic pain and medical concerns that negatively impacted their quality of life.

With a wide range of clinical experience and a strong training background, I have refined my treatment to meet the needs of clients with a diverse range of concerns. I have a specific interests and expertise in anxiety, depression, chronic pain, life transitions, relationship difficulties and working with college aged populations.

What it is like working with me

My approach aims to foster a non-judgmental, genuine, validating environment for patients to feel support and warmth; while balancing it with challenge and gentle confrontation in order to assist them in working towards their goals.

I believe that a trusting relationship between therapist and patient is vital to effective treatment. My initial goal is to focus on your own innate individual strengths. I believe there is much more right and good about you than your current concerns/struggles. We will create a truly individualized treatment plan based on your unique needs and current situation to help you move to where you ultimately want to go.

I am goal-oriented, collaborative, and view myself as an active contributor to the therapeutic process providing guidance, skill building, problem solving, and insight while helping you reach your own conclusions. You will then be able to use this new perspective to help make changes needed to improve your wellbeing and life satisfaction.

My work with clients is grounded in evidenced based treatment with an emphasis in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Client Centered Relational approaches. To strive to provide the best care, I continue to strengthen my knowledge through continued training, current literature, and regular consultation from other health professionals so that you are satisfied with being provided competent, reliable treatment.
